Wine 1: Beware of the (Thorny) Devil
Named after a little lizardy fellow called a Thorny Devil found in the vineyard, this Grenache will no doubt surprise you. Winemaker Peter Leske makes this wine at the old site of Nepenthe in the Adelaide Hills, on the Southern edge of the Barossa valley.
Packing the characteristic Barossa punch, this delicately hued red is otherwise very elegant with vibrant wild strawberry, spice and silky texture. A wine that displays all the vibrant silky fruit that makes Grenache so special. Powerful in flavour but well balanced. Can’t wait? Buy now
Wine 2: Dark as the night Black Shiraz
An expresso of a wine: strong, purple black and intense. This wine is bursting with blackberry and plum aromas enhanced by toasty, oaky, vanilla notes. The palate is full flavoured and intense with blackberry, blueberry fruit and sweet spicy notes supported by ripe, dense tannins, giving the palate great structure and length.
Berton Vineyard was established by Bob and Cherie Berton in May 1996. 75 acres of land at 450m above sea level on gently rolling hills in a sub-region of Eden Valley in South Australia. Can’t wait? Buy now
