The A.H. Riise distillery is located on St. Thomas Island, an American Virgin
Island in the Caribbean.

Before this island became an American territory, it was a Danish colony.

In the 1840s, the pharmacist Albert Heinrich was not only allowed to open a
pharmacy, but also to produce alcohol.

The extraordinary "Non Plus Ultra" blend is made from old, carefully charred
bourbon barrels, a name that comes from Latin and means "no more". The selection
and processing of these barrels is crucial: the charring burns the inner layers
of wood, which increases the surface area and seals the barrel particularly
tightly from the inside. The barrels used for the Non Plus Ultra series undergo
a longer charring process, which allows the blend to penetrate previously
untouched layers of wood.

Together with the exquisite base rums, this creates a blend of exceptional
character. The Non Plus Ultra – Black Edition seduces with a rich, velvety
taste, characterized by notes of almonds, orange and a hint of butter caramel –
presented in packaging that does justice to the exclusivity of the contents.
