VIP Norway Black Crowberry is a blend of organic sparkling Pinot from Veneto Italy and extract of wild Nordic Crowberries grown in Northern Scandinavia. The colour is light copper, and the taste brings hints of crisp and fresh red fruits. Good mouth-feel with elegant small bubbles and a refreshing finish.
Pairing tips: Perfect as an aperitif as well as with fish, wild game meats and sweet desserts.
Serving temperature: 8-10 °C
About the winemaking process
Production of the nutritious berry extract is a long and meticulous process. First, ripe and wild berries are handpicked in the pure mountains of Norway and northern Sweden in august/September, after months of ripening under the never setting midnight sun. Because of this, these berries are truly a rare delicacy - even for Scandinavians.
Then the process of maceration at the VIP Norway winery begins, by combining the perfect balance of fresh berries and the finest organic pinot produced by their Italian partner in Veneto. After a few months in tanks, the mix of berries and alcohol is first pressed and then finely filtered. The nutritious berry extract is then stored in airtight stainless steel tanks to mature for a number of months.
