Renegade London Sauvignon Blanc
The fruit for this white wine comes from Blaye in Bordeaux. The grapes were grown by the Terrigeol family who have been perfecting their craft for generations. We feel very privileged that this typically French family agreed to sell a portion of their harvest to us.
The grapes were destemmed and the juice kept in contact with the skins for a number of hours to help extract flavour. They were then gently pressed and we fermented the majority of the juice in a stainless-steel tank to maintain purity but with a small percentage fermented in French oak for character. We think the wine shows hints of gunpowder and flint on the nose, which gives way to a soft aroma of lime zest. The palate is dominated by lemon, lime and grapefruit and has an element of minerality.
