Planted in 1988 on rootstocks at Woodstock Estate, this Semillon clone was chosen for its ability to express tropical fruit aromas and flavours. Free draining sandy soils ensure we get the best flavours from this variety. A proportion of Sauvignon Blanc, sourced from a cool vineyard site in Blewitt Springs, is blended to help focus flavour intensity and texture.
Fragrant notes of gooseberries with hints of limes and lemons give a vibrant bouquet.
A fresh and flavoursome palate of tropical flavours envelope the mid-palate, finishing with refreshing, clean, soft citric acids. The combination of structure from Semillon and zest of Sauvignon Blanc results in a delicious McLaren Vale blend to be enjoyed throughout all seasons.
Enjoy with lightly cooked shellfish like oysters and prawns, fresh crab or
simple grilled fish such as sea bass, with a touch of olive oil.
