This wine is a classic Moss Wood Cabernet Sauvignon, "old fashion" as they describe it. They chose the style showing the characteristics of the place, varieties and the people who made them, instead of hiding them behind dominant secondary characters of oak and winemaking technics. The fruit flavours are a combination of mulberry, cassis and dark plum, with background notes of dark chocolate and tar. The structure is firm, with bright acidity and long, round tannins, that provide good concentration and texture but allow a finish that isnt gritty or drying, more powdery and pencil shavings.

2013 is their 40th release and considered one of the best, outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon from an iconic estate.

Please note; winery chose to use screw cap closure in these wines for 15 years as they believe it provides a much more consistent product with a very satisfying ageing ability preventing cork taint and oxidation.

AWARDS AND REVIEWS
38th in James Suckling's Top 100 Wines of Australia 2016

97 points James Suckling
This has an impressive core of fruit, showing blood orange and red currants, blueberry, red plum and more; plenty of spicy, mocha-scented oak too, then chalky notes, and a little leafy edge. The palate has a fine grain, dense and supple; tannins are smooth, even and dense. Long future, ripe and bright, but needs more time. Best from 2021.

A powerful, full-bodied Cabernet that still manages to achieve finesse thanks to the perfect balance of fruit, oak and tannins. An autocratic portrait of Cabernet, and of photographic reality.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon expresses blackcurrants, black cherries and pencil lead notes on the nose, with cedar, rust, loam and tree bark suggestions. The palate has lovely, ripe, grainy tannins that are firm leading to a taut structure with great tension. It finishes long with a bay leaf lift.

Very subtle and well integrated. Correct and beautifully integrated. A really lovely subtle wine. Complete and long.
