At the start of the 19th century the Scottish painter John Lewis Brown purchased this estate and its vineyards. As was the tradition in the Medoc at the time, he renamed the estate after himself. Today, the estate is owned by the Simon-Halabi family; its reputation for superb quality and consistency remains undimmed.
A monumental effort, possessed of enormous concentration, with loads of black and blue fruits intermixed with damp earth and forest floor. Seamless and powerful, yet at the same time elegant and densely complex. This wine should evolve beautifully over the next 30 years.
Any game, red meat, super creamy cheese and fatty fish cooked with complex herbs and spices.
Get your hands on this sublime wine while you can.
