Chateau La Tour Figeac covers 14.6 hectares of vineyard, located in the north-west of Saint Emilion appellation. It is surrounded by Chateau Figeac in the south and La Tour du Pin Figeac in the north. Chateau La Tour Figeac was named after a tower that stood on the estate. It was separated from Chateau Figeac in 1880. Until 1973 it was owned by the Rapin family who then sold it to the Rettenmaier's. In 1994 Otto van Rettenmaier reorganised the management structure of the estate and is at the origin of the increase in quality of the wines produced. Only red wine can be grown in St. Emilion
Sweet cherries, earth and stone with fresh picked flowers on the nose, this medium bodied wine has a soft, sweet, cherry finish.
Beef, lamb, spicy food, poultry, game (deer, venison)
Very good Saint Emilion terroir. As you can see, they have some well-known neighbours with Chateau Figeac to the south, Chateau Cheval Blanc to the east and to the north and west you find the Pomerol appellation just a few rows of vines away.
