Bodegas Emilio Moro "Malleolus Sanchomartin" Ribera Del Duero is a red wine from the Castilla y Leon region of Spain. The absolute winner in the Emilio Moro range. Pricey, but compared to many grands crus classés from Bordeaux of the same quality, this is still an opportunity. The Sancho Martin comes from a vineyard of only 0.84ha so supply is extremely limited.
The vineyard is situated on the soil of a mixture of sandy clay, marl and limestone. Both malolactic fermentation and aging are carried out in new French oak barrels. The aging takes 18 months. In the glass, the wine has an intense, deep cherry red color. Complex and elegant aromas with subtle, floral tones that the liqueurs, mulberry and black currant. The balsamic tones of the oak are perfectly integrated into the wine ensemble. On the pallet warm and sweet with balanced acids and great quality of tannins that is loving in the pallet. The wine has a warm finish that lasts forever. Of this great Sancho Martin, only around 2000 bottles are made to the maximum and only a handful of magnums.
