The Bembibre is made from 85-year-old vines. It is one of the top wines of dominio de Tares. The grapes are hand-picked with malolactic fermentation on new French oak, followed by 16 months of aging. After that, the Bembibre gets another 24 months bottle aging. In the glass, wine is intense but fresh red. Black fruit, exotic spices, floral notes and an earthy minerality make a rich, lush, beautifully proportioned Mencia. Similar to a beautiful burgundy. Fresh and elegant but substantially cheaper
This is wine that is recommended for dishes with intense flavors such as an irish stew, slow cooked meat stews such as lamb or for example with old-fashioned pulled pork and hachee. Decant or open the bottle an hour in advance and do not serve the wine too warm. Around 17 maximum 18 degrees is perfect.
In the GUIA DE VINOS 2017, the Bembibre received 97 points and the Oenologist Rafael Somonte selected as the Best enologist of Spain
