Near the village of Cairanne, in the Southern Rhône (in the Vacqueyras appellation) with a view of Mont Ventoux, this beautiful wine is made by Jean-Philippe Bouchet. 2009 was immediately his first volume. If you have ever tasted Gourt de Mautens from Rasteau or Roucas Toumba from this region, Clos des Mourres is even more value for money.
Jean-Philippe Bouchet has decided to switch to bio-dynamic viticulture and is now in the second year of the conversion so the Clos de Mourres Gerline will soon be officially certified as bio-dynamic wine
The "Gerline" is a wine that consists of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah. This Vacqueyras "Gerline" is mainly characterized by its deep red color. On the nose, aromas of red fruits and provencal herbs such as thyme and laurel. The wine has a lot of character in the mouth with a fine aromatic structure with finesse and elegance. Great to enjoy in all its youthfulness and especially the fruitiness, but with a few years of imposing it will gain even more complexity.
