The Bemberg family has selected its very best single vineyards for a special series of wines under the name La Linterna. The selected vineyards are scattered from the north to the south of the Andes. Every wine is a precise translation of the microterroir of that place. The wines immediately received very high scores at the first launch. The Finca El Tomillo vineyard is located at 1,210 meters above sea level in Gualtallary in an alluvial range formed by the LasTunas river. The amazing micro-terroir first has a layer of sand that reaches a depth of 60 cm below the surface with a salty layer of calcium carbonate underneath.

The Bemberg Pionero Finca El Tomillo is an almost burgundy wine and is a blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon & Malbec. The fermentation of the Malbec takes place in 225 liter barrels of French oak, with two-thirds displeased and 10% processed in whole trusses. The Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc ferment in 600 liter oak barrels. The fermentations are spontaneous with yeasts from the vineyard. After the fermentation a soaking of five weeks follows. The wine is then pressed. The wine then ripens for 18 months in new French oak.
In the glass, the Bember Pionero is deep dark red with notes of ripe cherries, blackberries and plums, graphite, dried herbs, pepper, cedar and tobacco in the nose. In the mouth, the Bemberg is elegant and harmonious. layered and exciting with lively acids, fine and structured tannins. Silky smooth.

Delicious with a deer steak from the charcoal grill.

98/100 - James Suckling.

Bemberg Estate Wines is located in the Argentinian wine region of Mendoza , the region with the largest area of wine-growing land in Argentina. The winery owns around 3,200 hectares of vineyards and has been producing great wines for years and is always passionate about further development. That is how the Bemberg family came up with the idea of selecting the very best vineyards together with Daniel Pi, who was named Best Argentinian Winemaker, and turned them into phenomenal wines. These single vineyards wines represent beautiful micro-terroirs in different regions of Argentina. The numbers produced were not large, so the family decided to keep them for their own use. However, when the wines turned out to be of very good quality, it was nevertheless decided to not only keep these exclusive wines for themselves, but also to put them on the market.
