Borgogno is one of the very first and probably the oldest wineries in Piedmont. The Italian winery strongly believes in classical and traditional philosophy, whatever its strength; For years, compliance with these traditions has been passed on to future generations. Borgogno owns 13 hectares of vineyards, 9 of which are planted with the Nebbiolo grape. The wines are all vinified in the traditional way to produce unique and structured wines. The wines are produced sustainably.
This 100% Nebbiolo from Borgogno is a very affordable alternative to the often extremely expensive Barolos. In the glass, the wine is garnet red, with a brick red border like a good Nebbiolo. In the nose we smell roses, autumn tones, licorice and tobacco. In the mouth, this wine is now velvety soft with the tannins present but already nicely rounded and well integrated. The wine is already surprisingly good to drink but will be able to improve even further over time. We definitely recommend decanting this splendid Nebbiolo or opening the bottle at least an hour in advance. This Nebbiolo is an excellent companion for minestrone soup, pasta with mushroom and shallots and sweet potato.
