Absolute top white wine. A blend of sauvignon, chardonnay, malvasia, Istriana and Picolit. Simply unique. Is now drunk and can be stored until 2027. The Vintage Tunina from Jermann, is also called the Tignanello of the white wines. It is one of the first to open the door for the new-style white wines from Friuli. In the new-style wines, a mix of grape varieties is used to create beautiful blends.
One of the top producers from Friuli and one of the most famous makers of Italian white is undoubtedly Silvio Jermann. The Jermann family domain is located in the extreme north-east of Italy in the hilly region of Friuli, near the Slovenian border, in the DOC Collio, and dates from 1881. Since Silvio, the third generation, took the helm in 1975, there has been an enormous revolution occurred. By continuously investing and making optimum use of the sandy and marlous soil suitable for the white grape varieties, he expressed his urge to innovate, resulting in fantastic results. He grew into a worldwide phenomenon. Elegance, depth, richness, structure and minerality characteristics are wines that are served in many star restaurants worldwide.
The grapes from the Tunina come from one of the best vineyards in Jermann. The color of this wine is straw yellow gold, the aroma intense, full, with hints of honey and wild flowers. The taste is full and round, velvety with a nice long finish. For this special combination of grapes, the picking takes place about two weeks later than the normal harvest. The name Tunina refers to the previous owner of the land on which the vineyard is located and is also dedicated to a governor from Venice, mistress of Cassanova, who was called Tunina, the diminutive of Antonia, as she was really called.
