The vineyard lies between 400 and 600 meters in height, in narrow and dizzying terraces with strong slopes facing south, acids, from rough textures. Developed from granite (granodiorites). The Falcoeira 2015 was a fairly warm harvest, but the extreme heat in the summer caused the plant to be blocked and eventually made way for a late harvest with a fantastic balance between maturity and freshness.
The wine is complex, fresh, balanced and intense. There is a pure reflection of terroir, mineral, acid-red fruit, cherries, eucalyptus, sweet spices and white pepper. And all this with a lively, pleasant acidity. A wine with balance and elegance everywhere. 2615 bottles produced and this scarce version has received 93 + / 100 Parker.
Winery Telmo RodriguezWhat makes Telmo Rodrigues wines unique is that they opt for native grape varieties that are also pruned in an indigenous way. As a result, on their vineyards the vines are not guided along long threads but as an independent shrub. Telmo also chooses to set bushes wider apart. This way has the advantage that a shrub has more options to find scarce moisture / food, but there is also more shade and also leads to healthier shrubs and this fits in with Telmo Rodriguez's biological approach.
