The Ripasso or Ripassa is also called the baby amarone because the wine is made with the must of the amarone To keep the wine its nice freshness (a Ripasso often becomes sultry) the wine matures partially in stainless steel barrels and partly in oak barrels but for 12 months. In terms of price / quality, this wine is highly recommended and it is difficult to find a Ripasso with this quality and at this price. This wine is pretty firm on the palate with predominantly cherries, plums and a little espresso and leather. The scent consists mainly of cherries and raspberries, currants and raisins.
