Stellenbosch is the most famous wine-growing region of South Africa, Stellenbosch has the most top domains and is surrounded by mountains (Helderberg and Simonsberg) and has vineyards in every direction. Stellenbosch has the only university in South Africa with a wine-growing department. Even though two-thirds of the vineyards are planted with white grapes, there is a growing awareness that Stellenbosch is destined for red wine.

The Outlier Sauvignon Blanc is barrel fermented in 60% new oak for eight months sur lie. The color is beautiful straw yellow as a good Sauvignon Blanc should be. It is a complex, characterful wine. full of ripe, tropical fruit and spicy. It has attractive notes of walnut and well-defined oak. The taste is fresh and well balanced with mineral notes (lime), fresh acids, fruit and grassiness that is so typical of a Sauvignon blanc. The Outlier has a long mouth-filling finish with a nice hint of orange peel in the finish. Very good.
