From the same maker as the famous Belondrade y Lurton. The Apolonia is assembled using 30% of the big brother the Beldondrade and 70% non-wood-bearing Verdejo. This makes this beautiful Verdejo slightly less woody and buttery and therefore fresher. This is a blissful wine as an aperitif or with fish and shellfish. It has a straw yellow color, floral aroma with fresh fruit and light tones of wood. The character is exotic fresh as you would expect from a Verdejo with, very nice, a soft wood tone that gives the wine power. Because of the upbringing, this is also a wine that will certainly remain delicious until 2023.

You know: Clarisa and Apolonia are the names Didier Belondrade's daughters

White wines have been made in the Rueda region for centuries. The grandeur of the buildings, churches, monasteries and estates of Nava del Rey and Rueda bear witness to the enormous wealth in the past. By dividing the domains, winemaking became so loss-making that many vineyards disappeared. Nowadays the area is again on the rise. Didier Belondrade and Brigitte Lurton started making wine in 1994 in Nava del Rey, in the heart of the Denominación. In this old town there is a labyrinth of abandoned cellars. The size of these cellars suggests how much wine was made here in the past. Within the walls of this old town, Belondrade and Lurton have opted for modern wine making.
