Tradición releases an average of 3000 unfiltered bottles of old (on average 10 years under "flor") Fino from their "soleras". The taste is medium to full-bodied with a somewhat creamy mouthfeel what it has received from the long bearing on lees (flor) This is a serious, powerful, concentrated Fino and is a perfect combination with 'jamón' (also available at Grandcruwines - click here for an overview of our Iberico hams.) Two bottlings per year, on average, do a maximum of 6,000 bottles of this beautiful Fino from the top house Tradicion.

Bodegas Tradicion is despite its name one of the youngest wineries in Jerez and was founded in 1998, something that is not often seen as most of the top sherry houses have existed for generations. It is also unusual for a winery to only sell old wines, especially at such a young company. But this is what Bodegas Tradicion does. They also have an icon of a winemaker in his name namely Jose Maria Quiros, who was a winemaker at Agustin Blazquez and later at Domecq and also an advisor at Alvear Montilla-Moriles for 15 years. The basis is an 18th century solera with 7 criaderas, designed by Agustin Blazquez and later taken over by Bodegas Domecq, as well as a 19th century solera designed by Alfred Gilbey.

Nicolaas Klei chose Elsevier's 65 best wines of 2015 no-nonsense wines. Wines without fuss. Without affectation, without makeup, without pretensions. Regarding the sherries of Bodegas Tradición, he says: "Expensive? One small sip will stay with you for hours, and apart from the fino they will stay open for a long time. A glass every day for a month: that's a euro a day for the most fascinating wines in the world. world."
