Purple/crimson with magenta hues. Aromatically there are subtle notes of cassis and a suggestion of mocha combine to provide an understated cedary, cigar box aroma that wafts gently from the glass. The palate is finely focussed offering at first sweet plumy, currant like fruit notes then fills the mouth with what modern foodies call umami. The tannins are fine and long balanced beautifully with sweet notes of spirit and softly supporting acidity.
