This wine is extremely aromatic with flavours of grass, gooseberries and lemon zest dominating. These continue through the palate accompanied by fresh lemon zest. Creaminess on the mid-palate is balanced by refreshing acidity.
The 78 hectares vineyards at Morgenhof Estate are dry farmed and worked to allow the myriad of different terroirs found on the farm to express themselves in the finished wines. The Sauvignon Blanc vineyards are planted mainly on gravel soils.

About Morgenhof Estate
Morgenhof Estate is situated in the Stellenbosch region of South Africa. The 213 hectare estate is located on the slopes of the Simonsberg mountain. It was founded in 1692 and over the following three centuries changed hands several times. In 1993 the current owner Anne Cointreau bought the estate. Anne brought a wealth of knowledge and experience with her from France's Cognac where her family can trace their involvment in viticulture back to 1210. In 1995 a newly constructed underground, octagonal cellar was completed. It was built so that Morgenhof's wines have the perfect conditions to age and develop. During construction 10 000 cubic metres of soil was excavated and afterwards a formal garden created above the cellar.
