Bright ruby red in the glass, with a generous nose of stewed plums, saddle leather and wild rose. On the palate, full-bodied and complex, with plenty of hot fruit coming through to mingle with flavours of spice, old oak and sun-baked undergrowth. There is a pleasing herby component on the finish, which is long and well balanced. Great with tagliatelli with rocket, spinach and ricotta gnudi with a tomato and butter sauce or frascatelli carbonara.
