Pol Roger needs no introduction, the favoured Champagne of Sir Winston Churchill who they honoured by naming their prestige cuvée after him. The winery is still family owned, one of the that is only adding to its integrity.

The blend is comprised of equal proportions of the three traditional Champagne grapes – Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. The wine is elegant and beguiling showing a wonderful brioche character owing to the additional bottle ageing it receives to ensure it’s ready for immediate enjoyment, though it does age splendidly.

Having gotten thirsty writing this I’m delighted to find a chilled bottle in the fridge… cheers!
