Carpenè Malvolti, founded in 1868 by Antonio Carpenè, was the first winery to produce a quality Prosecco. Antonio was a chemist who counted Pasteur amongst his contemporaries, he was convinced that a wine as good as champagne could be made in Italy, 150 years later the estate is being run by the 5th generation of the Carpené family, Rosana, and they're still going strong! A very clean, crisp prosecco with a gentle fizz, prominent flavours of green apple, peach, apricot and something a little floral too.

What does frizzante' mean?
This term denotes the level of fizz in the prosecco. There are two main types frizzante' & spumante'. Spumante is the fizzier of the two styles, frizzante less so. Getting a bit geeky for a minute, the average bottle of champagne has 6 atmospheres of pressure, prosecco is usually 3.5 but this frizzante' is 2.4. Chances are you've had a frizzante before and thought, "Oh this is nice, much smoother than normal!"
