Ribolla Gialla is a mind-bogglingly old grape, records of it going back to the 13th century. These 15-year-old vines produce brilliant fruit, the juice is fermented in stainless steel, then 8 months lees contact. It's seductively smoky, with tangy apples, lime and melons. Brilliant stuff by Tenuta di Angoris, one of the oldest esates in Friuli founded in 1648.
