The Gunderloch estate is located in the small village of Nackenheim. It is situated on the banks of the Rhine River at the foot of the ROTHENBERG. Rheinhessen is the German wine region that boasts the highest number of sunshine hours per year as well as the best conditions for grape growing with very low humidity, and it is here that many new grape varieties were bred in the early 1900s. Fritz Hasselbach, the owner of Weingut Gunderloch, is not only one of the premier producers of the Rheinhessen; he's also incredibly dedicated to making wines that show their terroir. Here, the red, iron-rich soils show through on the palate. This is off-dry and full of peach and yellow plum flavours. A captivating delicate fragrance of citrus fruit and spices, mixing with a gentle fruit flavour, soft acidity and hints of clove and kernel raise the level of this Kabinett.
