Grauburgunder wines from the Ihringer Winklerberg are marked by a minerality that adds elegance and finesse to their power.
Ripe, expressive and fanned-out fruit of pear compote, hazelnuts, preserved mirabelles, and a discreet touch of blossom honey. Supple approach and pleasant richness and the palate. Finley juicy texture and nice density, but by now mean overloaded. Discreetly creamy aroma of melons with a very fine spiciness. Very round and harmoniously woven. Fine weight and presence in the finish. A classic but as well an up-to-date version of a Grauburgunder.
Food recommendation: An excellent wine along with grilled fish, savory roasts, chicken and feathered game, as well as with hearty Mediterranean fare. Also a good recommendation for mild cheeses, spicy titbits, or tapas.
