The wine is a very pale straw colour with a slight green tinge. The nose shows zesty lemon and lime aromas along with faint orange blossom and talc. This riesling is restrained with a linear focus to the palate and purity of fruit flavours. There are lashings of fresh lemon/lime juice characters and a slate-like minerality across the mid-palate. It is backed up by a persistent and refreshing lime finish.
St Andrews is the flagship range from Wakefield Wines. In 1995 the Taylor family purchased the historic St Andrews property next door to the Wakefield estate, releasing their first wines in 1999. The wines are hand crafted from individually selected parcels of fruit, grown on the familys estate vineyards, and are a true labour of love. The wines have consistently accumulated an impressive number of awards and continue to attract national and international recognition for their outstanding quality.

About Wakefield Wines
Wakefield is a third generation family wine business and was founded in 1969 by Bill Taylor who was inspired by his love for the red wines of Bordeauxs Medoc region. He was drawn to South Australias Clare Valley with the attraction of the red-brown loam over limestone soils (also known as Terra Rossa) and the Clare Valleys cool climate which were known to be ideal for the cultivation of Cabernet Sauvignon vines. Today Wakefield is headed up by Mitchell Taylor whose philosophy blends an old world estate mind set with new world winemaking innovation; coupled with an almost fanatical attention to detail and obsession with quality. This results in wines of tremendous quality and style that are made with respect for the companys family heritage. Wakefield was recently acclaimed as the most Awarded Winery in the World by The World Association of Wine Writers and Journalists (WAWWJ).
