Work your way through a selection of Red Classics from Southern France. These wines have been hand picked from some of our favourite vineyards – and these wines are ideal for every day drinking, or even for a dinner party.

In the case: 1 bottle x each of the following:

Brunel de La Gardine – Côtes-du-Rhône Rouge 2017

Region: Southern Rhône

Grape Varietals: 65% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 15% Mourvedre

Notes: Garnet red in colour with a bright violet rim. A nose that is typical of the region – red fruit, earthy notes and sweet spice. Juicy, supple and balanced on the palate – a wine that will certainly please all crowds.

Chateau La Tuilerie du Puy Bordeaux Superior Tradition 2014

Region: Entre-Deux-Mers / Bordeaux

Grape Varietals: 41% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc

Notes: 2014 is a classic year from Bordeaux and we believe this is the best drinking claret we have had from them. The colour is deep red with hints of cherry. Expressive nose offering notes of cherry, blackberry and cassis.

Domaine Le Sang des Cailloux Floureto 2016

Region: Vacqueyras / Southern Rhone

Grape Varietals: 80% Grenache, 20% Syrah

Notes: This is a textbook example of this appellation that gives up lots of Provencal herbs, cracked pepper, smoked earth and assorted red and black fruits on both the nose and palate. Pretty, medium-bodied, elegant and with fine tannin, drink it anytime over the coming 5-7 years.

Chateau Puech Haut Prestige Red 2016

Region: Languedoc

Grape Varietals: 60% Grenache, 40% Syrah

Notes: A fruity red wine that is dark red in colour. You will notice notes of garrigue herbs, raspberry, kirsch and plum. This wine is dense, concentrated and complex with a succulent finale.

Clos Baste Madiran Tradition 2011

Region: Madiran / South West France

Grape Varietals: 100% Tannat

Notes: Clos Baste makes traditional style Tannat wines, with dark smoky fruit, heavy and dense in texture, tannic underpinning and some rusticity showing through. Perhaps a touch smoky, with dried cherry, its more massive and monolithic character would suit most meat or game dishes.

Château Saint Roch Lirac 2017

Region: Lirac / Southern Rhône

Grape Varietals: 50% Grenache, 30% Mourvèdre, 20% Syrah

Notes: Chateau Saint-Roch Lirac Rouge is vibrant purple in colour and presents delightful aromas of dark fruit and violets. On the palate intense flavours of plum and blackberry balance the notes of chocolate and spices. The palate is well-balanced and full-bodied and gives a long-lasting and impactful finish.
