Intense and complex Rioja red wine with delicious notes of ripe fruits, liquorice, vanilla and roasted notes. Ugarte Rioja is a well-balanced wine with sweet fruity aftertastes and powerful tannins. Wonderful value.
Decanter, 87 points: “Heavy oaking gives this wine power but also a drying character. The spice and earth is appealing though, and there is no lack of grip.”
Pairing tips: Birds, Roasted lamb, red meats, pork, cold meats, game animals, cheeses, Tomato pasta, Paté, prosciutto and stews
Serving temperature: 15-17ºC. Decant 30 minutes.

About the vineyard:
Eguren Ugarte is a family run Vineyard in Laguardia, in the heart of Rioja Alavesa. They have notoriously been growing vine since 1870 on the foothills of the Sierra Cantabria.
Rioja is barreled for 20 months before being bottled for 22 months in order to achieve their subtle but signature flavour.
