Wine of the Week
Pinot Noir, Estate Selection, Paparuda, Transylvania, Romania, 2015
Romania has a continental climate with hot summers and cold winters, moderated by the black sea and high Carpenthian mountains. Their wines follow the European style, elegant without the heaviness. The Paraduda Pinot Noir is soft and juicy and is destined to please most palates by its delectable flavour of cloves and mulberry fruit.
Bright purple with aromas of strawberries and raspberries and hints of spice. Medium bodied with ripe red fruits and a lingering aftertaste.
Serve with: red meats, duck, light meals.
About the producer: Cramele Recas is situated in Western Romania. It's an impressive winery on an old site. In the last 10 years both vineyard and winery have been completely modernised to be able to control the production methods with the latest technology. The grapes are gently crushed in order to maintain the maximum quality in the wine.
