Château des Deux Rives is a family estate located in the Entre Deux Mers region. The Château was built at the end of the 19th century on a hill top. Dominating the Dordogne valley, the sloping vineyards are orientated South/Southeast, meaning they benefit from optimal sun exposure great natural drainage allowing grapes to reach optimum ripeness even in challenging vintages.
The terroir of the vineyards is composed of sand and gravel; ideally suited for growing the classic varieties of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.
A combination of traditional methods and modern technology are used to produce quality focused wines of value and typicity. The vineyards are farmed organically with meticulous attention to detail, while the cellars have been refurbished and updated. This wine sees no oak, with only stainless steel tanks used in order to preserve the freshness and primary fruit of the wine.
Grape: 40% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Cabernet Franc
Tasting Note: Plump, soft aromatic dark plum and blackcurant fruits with a hint of cedar and graphite. The tannins are soft and pliable while the balanced acidity adds freshness. A fantastic value red Bordeaux that combines fuit purity, typicity and and drinkability at a great price.
Food Match: Ideal with sirloin steak, chips and peppercorn sauce.
