Red Veronese Igt Barried
Type | Red |
Country/Region | Italy, Veneto |
A full-bodied red wine with an intense and brilliant ruby color. On the nose the characteristic scent of black cherries and ripe berries with a pinch of vanilla from the refinement in oak barrels. The palate is ripe and
fruity, complex expression of fine red grapes of Verona and Valpolicella Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara and other reds. A well-structured wine that is easier to drink.
Characteristics: In the month of March following the harvest, the new
vintage is macerated with the skins coming from the production of fine wines of Verona. This according to the well-established Veronese technique of the "Ripasso", which increases the olfactory sensations and the structure of the Red Wines of Verona. A further refinement for 12 months in oak barrels gives further characteristics of higher complexity.
Vineyards of origin: Produced in selected hilly locations in the Province of Verona and south of Lake Garda.
Harvest : Traditional, manual in boxes of modest capacity
Ground: dark with little clay, texture mixed with rocky decay, with almost neutral PH
Ageing/Refinement: After fermentation and separation from the heavy lees, the Rosso Verona IGT Barricato is aged for a long time as required by the production specification in large barrels with frequent and soft batonage for a few months to favor the extraction of varietal aromas
and then subsequently at least 3 months in the bottle and before being put up for sale. The strong wine with an imposing structure and a good alcohol content lends itself perfectly to aging for a few years,
improving its structure without fearing the signs of time.
