Premier Cru Tokaji Furmint with a complex mineral and fruit laced palate - divine and age-worthy
The boutique Balassa winery was established in 2005 by Istvan Balassa in the historic Tokaj wine region. Right from the beginning, Istvan, a perfectionist, has been determined to produce only the highest-quality wines possible by maximising the potential of each vintage. It all starts with growing grapes of an outstanding quality, applying a rigorous approach to cultivation. Each wine is then created using artisanal wine-making methods, highlighting the unique characteristics of the grape, the vineyard and the terroir.
Tasting Note: Tokaji Furmints are oftentimes dynamic and mineral, while others are elegant and fruity. Only very special wines combine both, and this vineyard selection Furmint, made from hand-picked grapes, is just such a vintage. Intense aromas of citrus, stone and peach explode in the glass, followed by a juicy palate with refined acidity and considerable oak in the background. Creamy, smooth and perfectly round, this is a well-balanced vintage for true wine lovers and connoisseurs.
