Serious, rich Chianti Riserva from a superior co-op in Tuscany's heart
Le Chiantigiane are a forward thinking, quality-orientated co-operative in the heart of Chianti. As the largest producer of Chianti with over 3000Ha of vines under their control, they produce a range of styles from great value, authentic Chianti to single estate Chianti Classico the quality of which puts many more well- known names to shame.
The grapes used for these wines hail from some of the best local vineyards, the winery having a long standing relationship with all of the grape growers ensuring the best quality of fruit and consistency of supply. The hilly soils and weather conditions in Tuscany are ideal for grape growing, the Sangiovese flourishing in these soils.
The winery is a thoroughly modern outfit, equipped with state of the art production facilities. Grapes are gently crushed and fermented at natural temperatures and then aged in their cellars before release.
Tasting Note: Fruity, floral taste with hints of morello cherry and violet and a slight hint of vanilla, dry, well-balanced palate. Colour is bright red verging on garnet red when aged.
