Powerful, deep and fruit driven Ribera than would go well with grilled meats
Located in the so-called "Golden Mile", the most prestigious area of Ribera del Duero, Viña Mayor brings together the Ribera del Duero's two great strengths. The first a drive for innovation that fuelled the first steps of the creation of this comparatively youthful D.O. in 1986. The second the deep seated respect the winery has for its surroundings, where it sits in the landscape of hills and slopes that look over the majestic course of the Duero River. Combining these strengths helps form a winery with vision, grounded in the present creating powerful fruit driven wines of style and class.
Tasting Note: A young, deep cherry red colour with vibrant bluish tones. Intense red and black fruit aromas combined with some spice, toast, a hint of smoke and notes of liquorice. Fine grained tannins and fresh acidity, the finish is long, sleek and voluminous.
