About The Wine
Château de Beaucastel has long been regarded as one of the most celebrated estates in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The vineyard is situated at the northern limit of CNDP where it benefits from its exposure to the mistral winds. All 13 permitted varieties are planted in the vineyard and used in the wine. Tasting Notes
Spice, a touch smoky; rooty black fruit, some dried. This is fresh from the start. Complete and elegant wine. Persistent with very fine tannin at the finish. Syrah Big, black, rubbery. Rich, cool and integrated, with subtle grip. Mourvèdre Really quite a medicinal wine of red and black forest fruits. Good density of aromas to this. Cool wine and a straight one. Loaded with tacky, spicy, upright tannin. Very fresh. Not massive, but shapely and delightful. Blend Lovely cool wine with aspects of all cepages. Fresh, mineral and straight. Gaining in crunchy grip. Excellent finish. Bowes Wine original note Sweetness Explained
All our wines are given a Sweetness Indicator from 1 to 5, with 1 being the driest and 5 being the sweetest. This can be found for every wine under the Wine Details tab. Most red wines are dry and therefore are indicated with a 1. The sweetness becomes more relevant with white wines, sparkling wines and pudding/dessert wines such as Sauternes and Tokaji.
