Summer is coming and the Kingscote Sparkling Brut is wonderful example of just how good an English Charmat style bottle of bubbles can be! Simply put, it is is a fresh, aromatic dry sparkling white. It possesses aromas of fresh grapes, gooseberry and grass. The palate is dry, fresh and lively with a bright mousse. Whilst dry, the wine is not tart or sharp but refreshing and clean. It makes a super aperitif or easy drinking sparkling wine, more interesting and more deeply flavoured than a Prosecco yet not a sharp and austere as some Champagne.

The wine is a blend of estate grown Bacchus, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. The wine is non-vintage and the final blend contains base wines from the last three years blend so as to achieve a perfect balance and deliver complexity. The second fermentation, which creates the bubbles, takes place in a steel tank so as to retain the aromas of the grapes and the purity of the fruit. There is no intention to add weight and complexity through yeast autolysis in this process but to express the joy of the young wine.

This vineyard is in West Sussex to the south east of East Grinstead , not far from Weir Wood water and the upper reaches of the River Medway. The estate has a long history dating back to the early 14th century, however, the story of wine production dates back to 2010.
