Greco di Tufo DOCG by Cantine di Marzo winery in Avellino area of Campania is made 100% of Greco frape coming from the famous area nearby the town Tufo.
This white wine is sunlight yellow with golden reflections in the glass. To the nose, a predominance of flint with notes of orange blossom and wild Mediterranean flowers which evolve into more fruity notes with a very discreet trace of eucalyptus. In the mouth, the first impact is its freshness sustained by its acidity which underlines its structure. A considerable minerality backs the predominant citrus notes. There is a pleasant aromatic persistence with a light after-taste of almond and nut. When aged, elegant minerality becomes predominant.
Food combinations: its fresh acidity makes it one of the few wines which accompany beautifully traditional tomato sauce in every form. Ideal with Pizza, pasta with tomato sauce as well as garlic based southern Italian dishes. Also ideal with seafood appetisers and grilled fish such a sea bass. Not to forget, Greco as a classic aperitif, with fried appetisers.
