Ujo is the local name for Eagle Owl that nests in our vineyard. Dramatically steep planting with narrow terraces. A ripe, red fruit character on the nose gives way to subtle spice and liquorices. Elegance is the word here. A little leaner than the Oratorio, fresh, mineral and textured.
40 hectares of Classification A vines. The vineyards have many expositions, traditional schist soils and range in altitude from 75m-325m.
Our first, 2013 vintage was launched in 2016. We collaborate with consultant winemaker Jean-Claude Berrouet (formerly Petrus) for his expertise and experience, particularly in the blending and maturation stages of each vintage.
