The noble Nebbiolo grapes come from the south facing Rocche vineyard known as the "cru" dating back to the 15th century and only the best grapes from the vintage are selected for this top wine. The wine matures in barrels of 30-33hl slowly for 30 months giving that unmistakable garnet hue coupled with aromas of rose, violets, truffles and tobacco. Azienda Agricola Erbaluna Dating back to the last century Erbaluna winery and vineyards are owned by the Oberto brothers who were instrumental in converting the vineyards to organic in 1985. Today they produce classic top-quality red from the Piedmont region based on the noble grapes of Barbera & Nebbiolo. The vineyards cover 15 hectares in total and their wines are true class in a glass. Barolo is one of the greatest red Italian wines and Erbaluna's Vigna Rocche is richly textured and sits at the top of any tree.
