The home of our Gravel Pit Red almost ended up in the hands of a mining company, but local vintners got in their way. Thanks to a courageous protest by the neighbourhood wine crew the land was saved for vines. Merlot Malbec Mostly Merlot with a seasoning of Malbec to round it off. The warmth of the vineyard and stony soils help produce very ripe grapes, which make this wine an absolute pearler. 2006 A corker summer meant our fruit ripened earlier than usual. Autumnal showers kept our vineyard guys on their toes, but the Gimblett Gravels free draining soils saved the day, ensuring the quality of the harvested fruit was superb.
