Perelada is one of Spain’s most dynamic wineries. It is still family owned and run, based in the 14th century Castillo Perelada, in the small town of the same name. They produce premium still wines in the small Emporda DO – 2,500 hectares, on the Costa Brava, which has become one of the most prestigious Dos in Spain. Here, Perelada’s spectacular vineyards produce elegant, exciting and highly acclaimed wines, capturing the essence of the region. The 5 Fincas has a very deep cherry red colour. There are wonderfully enticing aromas of ripe fruit, with balsamic notes and a toasty background, following its 21 months ageing in oak. In the mouth it is opulent, well-structured and balanced with fine, supple tannins. It has perfectly balanced acidity. This is a wine with a great personality, excellent mouthfeel and a long finish.
