In the 50's, Luigi Maravalle purchases Vitalonga estate to produce red wine. The estate was at that time mainly planted with Montepulciano and Sangiovese, In the 60's his son Fabio and his wife Gigliola dedicated energy and passion to the modernisation of the estate. They have decided to replant the vineyards and chose also different grapes such as Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Since then the family always focused on producing high quality wines.
Dark ruby-red. A refined peppery nuance complements blackcurrant and cedar on the nose. Flinty and herbal on the palate, with pure flavours of small dark berries. Finishes bright, smooth and long.
Delicious with a grilled red meat, a stew and lamb as well as with pasta and risotto dishes. Excellent with cured meat and strong cheeses.
Phiculle is the wine which best expresses Vitalonga's ultimate aspiration: the magic of this extraordinary wine-producing area combined with the experience and passion Vitalonga's people put in the research for excellence.
