The winery was founded in 1942 by Francisco Casas Gomez, it is still a family run winery, with the fourth generation now in charge. The vineyards cover more than 10 hectares, surrounding the cellar. The climate is continental with influence from the Atlantic and the River Douro, there are extreme contrasts in temperature during winter and summer. There is a great wine making tradition in this area, which predates the Roman era. Eduardo Casas has now taken over the Bodega to continue the next generation of the Casas legacy.
Ruby in colour. This wine expresses great aromas of smoke, leather, and soft hints of tobacco. A well rounded fleshy red fruit wine with delicious flavours of cocoa and vanilla, before a complex, long finish.
Great wine to match with most tapas, cheese and beef.
Aged in American oak barrel for 4 months, malolactic fermentation completed in barrels. Bottle refined for 3 months prior to its release to the market. Light filtering followed by wine bottling.
