They belong to the secret heroes of the international wine world: winemakers such as the quality-seeking Carlos Figueiredo, who esteems his birthplace Dão and the local terroir, but also produces wines at a global level. With his wines, wine lovers find the individuality that is often lost in times of increasing globalization of wine tastes: authentic, traditionally prepared wines with a radiant regional character, made from indigenous grape varieties in a limited edition. It is therefore no surprise that señor Figueiredo has planted the touriga nacional - the king of Portuguese grapes - and produces characteristic, typically Portuguese terroir wines such as the Quinta da Falorca Touriga Nacional Dão. It is not without reason that the wine has earned 93 Parker points!

The 2002 Touriga Nacional Quinta da Falorca is one of our oldies. As the Wine-Advocate describes it: It is a library wine or, in other words, one for the collector. The wine comes from the year 2002 but we advise not to open the bottle until 2018 and then enjoy it for the next 10 years. The Touriga Nacional is known as the grape that gives wines that improve over time, but then the wine has to be made handsome and more importantly the grapes have to be picked at the ideal moment and that is sometimes a challenge in the Daõ. The wine is smooth, structured with mature nuances. The wine is super complex, with each sip just exposed to something else. The wine still has refined tannins, so give the wine some time and some air. The wine has nice fresh fresh red fruit. The extremely lively bouquet smells of black cherries, blackberries, blueberries and pampers the nose with floral aromas, notes of herbs, spices and fragrant vataromas such as cocoa, toast and espresso. some tension at the finish and a very respectable length, this is very beautiful, a nice surprise. Taste him blind with your friends and ask for their opinion. It will not surprise us that they think that you have served a beautiful Burgundy.

Rustic Mediterranean stews, refined lamb dishes and grilled vegetables such as aubergine and zucchini go with this wine.
