This refined red wine comes from the Côtes de Franc which is a blend of 85% Merlot, 15% Cabernet-Sauvignon. This is the top wine from Chateau Le Puy. Unlike other Bordeaux wines, they do not first make separate wines before blending them into a unique cuvée. No. They pick everything together and then prepare the wine completely together. This, say, extremely rare method results in a more complex texture, with different flavors that come from the various yeasts, grapes and plots.

The Barthelemy is a very sought after wine and is one of the most favorite wines in Japan. This is precisely because Le Barthélemy 2003 was recognized in a comic Japanese comic series about wine - "The drops of god" as the wine that can fulfill your highest expectations of all time. After that the sale followed like a fast train. The full year 2003 was completely sold out in just a few days. Today the Château is "The most popular wine in Tokyo and surroundings". With the crown on the cake: a Château Le Puy store in Singapore.

Barthelemy La Cuvee is made from a selection of the best vineyards and vinified without the addition of sulfur, with a long aging in barrels. In the nose beautiful aromas of plums, cassis, cedar, spices, pepper, roasted almonds and chocolate. In the mouth we have an incredibly complex length, and especially an impressive balance despite the heat of the wine year.

The wine has had 24 upbringing in oak barrels (deliberately not new oak because the grape must predominate) and comes from a vineyard on a lime / rocky plateau and is grown without fertilizer, herbicides or insecticides, harvest is done manually. The fermentation is long and vinified without the addition of sulfur.

Château Le Puy, Famille Amoreau de père and fils depuis 1610. No Bordeaux made like thirty years ago but Bordeaux made like 100 or 200 years ago. No chemical sprays (biodynamic culture) in the vineyard, nothing of additives during the vinification (neither sugar, yeast, sulphite or other things), aging on old 'foudres' and barriques, not filtered. Château Le Puy is one of the few Bordeaux that you will find in hip wine circles on the tasting table between natural wines, Jura, Beaujolais and Loire. The label says - Expression originale du Terroir and that is not an empty marketing slogan. Château Le Puy: the Bordeaux for the post-Bordeaux era.

The fruit of a plot of vines known as 'Les Rocs', planted with 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, the Barthélemy undergoes a long vinification process with no added substances. The wines are matured in oak barrels for 24 months, with our technical interventions optimized with reference to the lunar calendar and with no added sulphur dioxide or other chemical products. They are then bottled without filtration.

The robe is a deep, enticing purple, while the nose has a rich array of aromas which seem to evoke a basket of perfectly ripe grapes. The palate is luxurious and complex, balancing great depth of flavor with a silky lightness of touch. The finish is seductive with a hint of mystery, inviting you to further into this entrancing enigma.

Barthélémy is an ideal partner for all grilled meats, game, mushrooms and refined, delicate ingredients, complementing without overwhelming complex flavors.

Above all, Barthélemy is an emotional experience.
