The godfathers of the Amarone are without a doubt Quintarelli and the legendary Romano Dal Forno and belong to the absolute top among the Valpolicella and Amarone wines, so of course Dal Forno should not be missing in the range of Grancru wines. At Dal Frono, wine is made in an almost manual way, with quality and not quantity. Romano knows not only every vine of his vineyard, but even every vine. At the Fattoria all grape bunches are checked individually and from this only the best grapes are selected for winning. Dal Forno stands for perfection.

The Dal Forno Romano Amerone is one of the best Amarone in the world. The Amarone della Valpolicellla Monte Lodoletta is a wine that people dream about and is such a bottle that a wine lover would like to have in his collection. The wine is monumental, magical, decadent and with a unique personality. Does this sound like over the top? As Robert Parker states: "It is impossible to exaggerate about the grandeur of this wine."

The Dal Forno Amarone is made from 60% Corvina, 20% Rondinella, 10% Oseleta, 10% Croatina. The best grapes are picked manually with the utmost care. They are then dried for 3 months in large open spaces. The pressing usually starts in mid-December after the grapes have been checked manually. The fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks that are around 28 ° C. The tanks are equipped with an extremely careful, computer-controlled process that keeps the content moving for 15 days, after which the last maceration takes 2 days. After that process, the wine is poured into new barrels, where the slow fermentation continues for 18 months. The wine stays in the barrel for 36 months. After filtering, the wine is bottled, after which it continues to ripen for a long time and is only released when Romano deems the time ripe for it.

An exorbitant Amarone. Intense dark red in color with so many layers in the scent ... Sultry aromas of cherries, blueberries, currants, raisins, tuttifrutti, chocolate, coffee and tobacco. Full of flavor with a bittersweet attack. Deep and concentrated with ripe fruit, truffle, tobacco and new leather. A magical aftertaste. A wine with a huge amount to discover, with an unprecedented retention potential of up to 2040+. This Amarone goes well with roasted meat such as beef, lamb, calf, but also with game such as deer, rabbit and wild boar. The wine also works well in combination with pasta based on tomatoes or truffles. This wine can also be combined with strong, somewhat older, cheeses.

The wine is starting to bloom openly but still has a bright future ahead and this is an ideal candidate for a Coravin . You can try a small sip or glass and then let the wine rest for years
