Bolla is one of the oldest Amarone houses and more than 130 years later, the Bolla winery has grown into a globally renowned winery with a large range of wines. What remains is the unique taste of the Bolla wines resulting from the special climate and terroir of the Veneto region. Oenologist Christian Zulian has been a winemaker at Bolla since 2015. Before joining Bolla, he worked for 13 years at Marchesi Antinori and several years at Domaine Baron de Rothschild.
In 1950 the grandchildren of the founder of Pedemonte Cellar bottled in Valpolicella, their grandfather's favorite wine to celebrate his 80th birthday. That was the Amarone. And so the commercial history of this wine began. The very first Amarone ever made, launched by Bolla, and now loved all over the world. With this Amarone, Bolla rediscovers the origin of wine and therefore produces with dedication and respect for tradition. In the glass, the Bolla amarone has a ruby-red color with a complex nose with aromas of plums and cherries with notes of balsamic vinegar. Elegant notes of roasted almond in the aftertaste. The taste is powerful and intense, a true classic.
The Le Poiane Amarone is only made in the peak years and ripens longer than the standard Amarone so advice is certainly to put a few bottles apart. The bottle is also in a luxury paper sleeve. A true piece of jewelry on the table,
