Made only in small quantities, Artadia Vinas de Gain Blanco is a wine in which the subtle, mineral and elegance of the Viura grape variety is beautifully reflected. Again such a wine that explains why the well-made white Rioja are so popular these days. Elegant, beautiful aging potential and many takeovers with a beautiful Burgundy with the price as a serious difference.

The Viura (or Macebo) grapes come from a vineyard located in Laguardia at an altitude of 450-700 meters on a limestone and clay site. We work with maximum respect for the environment, so no artificial fertilizer, poison or herbicides and according to an organic winemaking method. The 2015 season was characterized by a cold and humid winter with a lot of snowfall (this ensures very gradual watering). The spring had average temperatures with warm sons with remarkable differences between day and night which makes 2015 a top year (especially for the somewhat higher areas)

The Viura grapes ferment in oak barrels for about 2 weeks and then the wine is allowed to age very quietly on its stainless steel drought for almost 3 years and then the wine gets 6 months of aging in the bottle. The style of this wine is characterized by aromas and flavors of fresh and delicate red fruit. The subtle tannins generate velvety textures in the mouth. Of the white Vinas de Gain, only around 6000 bottles are always made and is a wine that gives a different character over the years, as is known from the white Rioja's. The freshness remains and wine becomes rounder over time and gets pleasant oxidative sherry-like tones.

KNOWLEDGE: With years of snowfall, almost without exception, there are fantastic volumes. This is because the (melting) snow provides a very gradual watering of the soil and certainly in the Rioja and Ribera del Duero this ensures that there is often no water debt / stress in the summer.
